Laser Hair Removal quickly and easily eliminates unwanted hair from all parts of the body, leaving the skin velvety smooth. The daily upkeep of facial and body hair can be quite time consuming for some clients.
Having to deal with red irritated bumpy skin, unwanted hair and ingrown hairs from shaving, threading, plucking and waxing can be embarrassing.
Medisthetics & Laser Clinic uses the Vikini by ilooda a Diode Laser proven safe and comfortable for all skin types even tanned skin! All laser treatments are performed by a Medical Aesthetic and Laser Technician to ensure optimal safety and results.
Laser Hair Removal is one of the most popular cosmetic treatments at West 5th Medi-Aesthetic Laser Clinic. We use a class four medical device that is a High Performance Diode “True Laser” (Not IPL) for Hair Removal.
The medical grade system is designed to cool and soothe as it glides along your skin and is 10 X faster than most hair removal Laser systems delivering fast, effective and comfortable results.
Since only follicles in the active growth phase are targeted, most patients require a series of treatments. Depending on the area being treated, we recommend 4-6 treatments for hair reduction while some patients require 8-10.
The number of treatments and frequency depend on the body location, type of hair, and skin colour. The best candidates are those with darker hair – white, grey, and red hair is less responsive to the laser energy. Treatment is effective on even the deepest follicles on any part of the body.
Vikini Diode Laser
With the Vikini Diode Laser there is also a unique performance setting that is one step before electrolysis to help with the Stubborn, less pigmented hair follicles; seeing results with red and grey hairs.
Laser Hair Removal is Recommended for Both Men and Women.
Visible reduction can be seen in 10-12 days post treatment. Should a patient require more than a series of 6 laser treatments, West 5th provides maintenance treatments with a reduced cost to the patient for optimal targeting of patients desired results.
Preparing For Your Treatment
Patients should avoid sun exposure, self-tanners, waxing or plucking of areas to be treated for a minimum of six weeks prior to treatment. Regular shaving is permitted. On the day of treatment areas should be shaved and free of antiperspirants, creams or cosmetics.
PRP Therapy for Face and Body
PRP in aesthetic medicine is an exciting avenue that has produced tremendous results for clients looking to achieve a more youthful appearance. At West 5th Medi-Aesthetic Laser Clinic we use microneedling to the area being treated.
Platelet Rich Plasma
The microscopic punctures create a funnel to receive the PRP (platelet rich plasma) a channel through which collagen can be formed for tighter skin and minimized pores improving the overall tone and texture.
This procedure is also used for the treatment of acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, burn scars, surgery scars and stretch marks, breast lift and firming and works to smooth wrinkled skin under the eyes or on the hands.
Hair Restoration (PRP) Platelet Rich Plasma
At Medisthetics & Laser Clinic, we perform platelet rich plasma (PRP) therapy as a proactive therapeutic option for male and female patients experiencing hair loss. PRP is a non-surgical therapeutic option for patients who require stimulation of hair growth for hair loss conditions.
Platelet-Rich Plasma is prepared by taking a small sample of the patient’s own blood, then separating platelets from RBC via centrifugation. Under a topical anesthesia, the highly concentrated PRP is then topically micro-needled into the scalp.
The PRP contains many growth factors that stimulate the hair follicle’s growth. By activating follicular progenitor cells (adult stem cells) the application of PRP causes weak hair follicles to become healthier and larger, producing more robust hair growth. New hair growth can be seen as early as 2 months, but is typically evident between 5-8 months and will continue to improve up to a year after treatment.
Treatments are done every 6-8 weeks with a series of 3-6 treatments for optimal results. Yearly maintenance is suggested as early data suggests regular PRP treatments can stimulate ongoing hair growth.
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is an autologous concentrated preparation of platelets and the associated growth factors in a small volume of plasma. Platelets are a natural source of a number of growth factors in their natural and biologically determined ratios.
Mesotherapy is a medical technique devised in the 1950s. It was first used to treat such conditions as rheumatism, sports injuries, and for the improvement of blood circulation. Mesotherapy has now been used successfully for the treatment of cosmetic conditions, including skin rejuvenation and improvement, hair regrowth, localised fat reduction and as a treatment for cellulite.
Mesotherapy involves the injection of a specially prepared mixture placed just millimetres under the skin. Mesotherapy for treating ageing skin aims to replace minerals, vitamins and amino acids that are found in lower levels in skin as we age. Another newer procedure is to boost levels of hyaluronic acid in the skin. Micro-injections are given every couple of weeks for two to three treatment courses. When the desired effects are achieved, you will require a maintenance program every 2 – 3 months or so. Private prices for mesotherapy can range from $300-$500 per treatment session.
How does Mesotherapy work?
Mesotherapy involves the injection of a specially prepared mixture of vitamins, amino acids, and medications, placed just millimetres under the skin into the problematic area. Just a “drop” of solution is used at each injection site. This is not a filler. It is a non-invasive aesthetic procedure with the benefits of building collagen and tightening;similar to the same procedure as microneedling with a more concentrated volume of liquid for each treatment area being treated. The procedure injects micro-doses of vitamins and hyaluronic acid and minerals into the the Epidermal layer of the Skin.
Skin Rejuvenating Treatment
Mesotherapy in the treatment of ageing skin aims to replace minerals, vitamins and amino acids that are found in lower levels in skin as we age. Another newer procedure is to boost levels of hyaluronic acid in the skin. This is another important component of the skin that helps to maintain firmness and texture. Again, as the skin ages, levels of hyaluronic acid decrease, and it is claimed that injecting more hyaluronic acid into the dermal layers (just below the surface of the skin) helps to stimulate more collagen production, which, in turn, improves skin tone and helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
What is Micro-Needling?
MicroPen® is the most advanced medical-grade automated micro-needling device on the market. This procedure is also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, a new innovation aesthetic medicine for the treatment of fine lines, acne scars and the improvement of the skin’s texture, tone and colour.
During this procedure, the MicroPen is used to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin in order to aid in the production of collagen and elastin. The skin’s repair process results in a thicker epidermis with a softer appearance of wrinkles.
The automated micro-needling pen is a safe alternative to common skin resurfacing tools, such as lasers and dermal rollers. The MicroPen® Elite, which won THE Aesthetic Industry Award for Best Micro-Needling Device, is affordable, effective, requires minimal down time and provides natural-looking results.
What areas can be treated?
MicroPen® can be used on all parts of the body; face, neck, decollete, arms, hands, legs, breast, abdomen and back.

Eclipse MicroPen® can also have a positive effect on the appearance of hyper-pigmentation, dark spots, acne scars and stretch marks and create a fresher appearance or glow to the skin.
The MicroPen is an automated Micro-Needling technology in aesthetic medicine that treats and improves fine lines, acne scars and overall skin appearance.

The procedure takes 30-40 minutes depending on the size of the area treated. The skin is numbed with a topical antiseptic to help minimize the discomfort.
What is the downtime?
Immediately after the treatment, you will bright a bright redness to the skin. The total healing time depends on the pen position used and the number of overlapping passes your skin-care professional performs on average, patient experience redness for 2-4 days. Some patients heal completely in 24 hours. Post Treatment can aid the healing process.
How many treatments will I need?
Some patients only require a single treatment once a year to achieve optimal results, however, it is recommended for most patients to receive a series of 2-3 treatments spaced about 6-8 weeks apart. For patients with more significant skin-care concerns, such as acne scars, it is recommended to receive 6-8 sessions at 6 week intervals.
Renew your skin quickly and gently.
Microdermabrasion treatments are comfortable, require no downtime and are suitable for all skin types at any time of year.
The treatment uses crystals and suction to mechanically remove old, weak skin and reveal the fresh, smooth, younger-looking skin underneath. The increased blood flow in the skin encourages collagen formation, which assists in firming and toning the epidermis.
Regular treatments are recommended as part of ongoing skin maintenance. Microdermabrasion works amazing for a post treatment of 10-12 days after a microneedling and or PRP treatments to eliminate flaky skin.
Formulated for maturing skin, AHA and anti-oxidant peels improve surface texture, including fine lines and wrinkles and promotes a bright, even skin tone.
HOW THEY WORK
Therapeutic medical-grade chemical peels invigorate dull skin by repairing damage from sun exposure, aging, acne, and other conditions.
Medisthetics & Laser Clinic Procedures include a variety of safe and effective chemical peels, AHA, glycolic and salicylic acid. Strengths can range from light peels which brighten skin and promote a healthy glow, to deeper peels which offer more correction and can address shallow acne scars, fine lines and pigmentation issues.
Peeling is exfoliation. When your skin peels or flakes after a treatment your skin is shedding dead or damaged surface cells and revealing new, healthy skin cells on the surface.
This action is called cell turnover. Supporting the cell turnover process with chemical peels is what allows the skin to shed dead cells and bring new, fresh skin to the surface, free of signs of aging, sun damage, dirt and debris. The result is glowing skin.
You won’t necessarily experience visible peeling. That doesn’t mean your treatment was ineffective. Everyone experiences different levels of peeling, dependent upon skin type, resilience, type of peel and the number of layers applied. Some people experience ‘sheeting,’ when large portions of the skin peel off at once. Some experience ‘flaking,’ when small pieces of skin peel off, similar to dry, winter skin or mild peeling after a sunburn.
Others experience exfoliation that is not visible. If you don’t peel, your skin is still exfoliating. In this case, the exfoliation is happening on a cellular level that can’t be seen by the naked eye. Typically, the deeper the peel you receive, the more extensive peeling you will experience. Excellent results: Rough, damaged skin feels softer following treatment.
Most patients need only a day or 2 before to let their skin heal. That means you can make a Friday appointment and return to work Monday.
Following a post-procedure regimen recommended by your PCA Certified Professional following your treatment will enhance your results and keep peeling and redness to a minimum. You should also avoid anything that causes sweating for 48 hours after treatment. Your clinician will give you more detailed instructions after your chemical peel procedure, catered to your skin’s needs.
