Beach Ready

Since only follicles in the active growth phase are targeted, most patients require a series of treatments. Depending on the area being treated, we recommend 6-8 treatments for hair reduction while some patients require 8-12.

The number of treatments and frequency depend on the body location, type of hair, and skin colour. The best candidates are those with darker hair – white, grey, and red hair is less responsive to the laser energy. Treatment is effective on even the deepest follicles on any part of the body.

Triple Wave Length Laser

With the Triple Wave length Laser (Diode, Alexandrite & ND-Yag) there is also a unique performance setting that is one step before electrolysis to help with the stubborn, less pigmented hair follicles; seeing results with red and grey hairs with the Alexandrite laser.

Laser Hair Removal is Recommended for Both Men and Women.
Visible reduction can be seen in 10-12 days post treatment. Should a patient require more than a series of 6 laser treatments, We provide maintenance treatments with a reduced cost to the patient for optimal targeting of patients desired results.

Preparing For Your Treatment
Patients should avoid sun exposure, self-tanners, waxing or plucking of areas to be treated for a minimum of 3 weeks prior to treatment. Regular shaving is permitted. On the day of treatment areas should be shaved and free of antiperspirants, creams or cosmetics.

PRP Therapy for Face and Body

PRP in aesthetic medicine is an exciting avenue that has produced tremendous results for clients looking to achieve a more youthful appearance. At Medisthetics & Laser Clinic we use microneedling to the area being treated.

Platelet Rich Plasma

The microscopic punctures create a funnel to receive the PRP (platelet rich plasma) a channel through which collagen can be formed for tighter skin and minimized pores improving the overall tone and texture.

This procedure is also used for the treatment of acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, burn scars, surgery scars and stretch marks, breast lift and firming and works to smooth wrinkled skin under the eyes or on the hands.

Skin Rejuvenation (PRP) Platelet Rich Plasma

At Medisthetics & Laser Clinic, we perform platelet rich plasma (PRP) therapy as a proactive therapeutic option for male and female patients.  PRP is a non-surgical therapeutic option for patients using their own DNA to help with Skin Rejuvenation and Healing.

What are vampire facials?

PRP is a treatment with seemingly endless areas for application. It has undoubtedly opened the doors for a wide range of cosmetic and wellness possibilities. It can be used to turn back the clock on ageing, hair loss, acne. It can even be used for injection therapy to treat sporting injuries.

PRP skin treatment uses your blood to promote collagen and blood factors. PRP works by literally drawing your blood (hence the name ‘vampire’) and extracting platelets to use on the skin. Platelets are the component of our blood that helps to heal damaged tissue (skin) by producing new collagen, elastin and regenerating cells.

PRP is now commonly used topically along with microneedling or skin resurfacing to enhance penetration into the skin.

The Best Part?

A PRP treatment for the face can pretty much address just about any skin concern – from acne scars to ageing skin. Vampire facials are one of the most versatile therapies that are more available nowadays.

A series of 3 to 4 vampire facials will address multiple skin issues. That includes breakouts and congestion, acne scarring, dull and lifeless skin, discolouration, sun damage, sagging skin, fine lines and wrinkles. We suggest that everyone over the age of 30 have at least one vampire facial treatment per year, and two a year for those over the age of 40.

Skin Resurfacing

Scars result from a chaotic wound healing response leaving behind fibrotic tissue due to irregular collagen formation. There are different types of scar including atrophic, hypertrophic, contracture and keloid scars. Available scar revision therapies depend on the type of scar, and range from topical creams for mild scarring, to grafting in the case of large, traumatic scars. Laser scar revision is an effective method for treating a wide range of scars that improves skin texture and pigment as well as functional aspects.

For acne and some surgical scars, fractional skin resurfacing can effectively treat textural and pigment concerns. IPL can also be used to decrease pigmentation and vascular effects. Scars caused by burns and other traumatic injuries are more complicated in nature and can negatively affect the quality of life due to disfigurement, pain, bleeding, pruritis (itching) and restricted range of motion. Fractional ablative laser resurfacing has been proven to effectively treat such scars and provide consistent and significant functional improvement as well as measurable cosmetic benefits.

The UltraPulse reaches an unparalleled depth of 4mm in a single pulse, enabling medical Technicians to treat and rehabilitate scars more effectively. With the smallest beam diameter and shortest pulse width in the industry, the UltraPulse delivers bursts of high energy at low densities that are ideal for a wide range of scar treatments. Resurfacing treatment uses a unique ablation/coagulation ratio to substantially improve the structure of deep contracted lesions by restoring more normal collagen deposition. This maximizes results, minimizes thermal damage and reduces treatment time.

How does Skin Resurfacing Work?

During a Resurfacing laser skin rejuvenation treatment, we typically use a topical anesthetic. Due to the non-ablative nature of the Resurfacing laser, most patients find treatments tolerable and comfortable. Treatments can take 20-40 minutes, depending on the size of the targeted area.

After Skin Resurfacing Treatment

After  laser skin resurfacing, patients generally have recovery time anywhere from 4-12 days with some redness and swelling after the procedure. Patients can return to their normal activities the day after the procedure. Recovery time is relatively comfortable. Redness, swelling, and minor irritation similar to a mild sunburn may develop, but these effects typically subside in just a few days. Sun exposure before and after treatment should be avoided and a sunscreen with SPF of 30 or higher should be worn daily in the days after the procedure. Once completely healed, ensure you wear at least a sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher every day to help protect your skin long-term.

chemical peels burlington

Peeling is exfoliation. When your skin peels or flakes after a treatment your skin is shedding dead or damaged surface cells and revealing new, healthy skin cells on the surface.

This action is called cell turnover. Supporting the cell turnover process with chemical peels is what allows the skin to shed dead cells and bring new, fresh skin to the surface, free of signs of aging, sun damage, dirt and debris. The result is glowing skin.

You won’t necessarily experience visible peeling. That doesn’t mean your treatment was ineffective. Everyone experiences different levels of peeling, dependent upon skin type, resilience, type of peel and the number of layers applied. Some people experience ‘sheeting,’ when large portions of the skin peel off at once. Some experience ‘flaking,’ when small pieces of skin peel off, similar to dry, winter skin or mild peeling after a sunburn.

Others experience exfoliation that is not visible. If you don’t peel, your skin is still exfoliating. In this case, the exfoliation is happening on a cellular level that can’t be seen by the naked eye. Typically, the deeper the peel you receive, the more extensive peeling you will experience. Excellent results: Rough, damaged skin feels softer following treatment.

Most patients need only a day or 2 before to let their skin heal. That means you can make a Friday appointment and return to work Monday.

Following a post-procedure regimen recommended by your PCA Certified Professional following your treatment will enhance your results and keep peeling and redness to a minimum. You should also avoid anything that causes sweating for 48 hours after treatment. Your clinician will give you more detailed instructions after your chemical peel procedure, catered to your skin’s needs.
